Co-founders of VORACIOUS. Two standards, one relentless pursuit: to build a movement forged from discipline and obsession.

The Story
Discipline, strength, and the relentless pursuit
My name is Gavin Carson, and I am the co-founder of VORACIOUS. I wanted to share a little about myself so you can get to know one of the people behind the brand.
I was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, before moving to Alberta, Canada, at 16 years old. Growing up, I struggled with being overweight and lacked confidence in myself. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, I decided to make a change and began using my free time to take weightlifting more seriously. Training gave me something to work toward and helped me build confidence in myself. What started as a hobby quickly became a major part of my life.
In 2021, I joined the United States Marine Corps and was stationed at Marine Corps Base Hawaii. I proudly served for four years, from 2021 to 2025. During my service, I developed a passion for powerlifting and learned the value of discipline, consistency, and pushing through adversity.
Since leaving the Marine Corps, I have continued challenging myself and working toward bigger goals. I am now a competitive powerlifter and a full-time college student, constantly striving to become stronger and accomplish more.
That hunger for growth is what VORACIOUS represents: the relentless pursuit of who you can become.

The Story
Endure. Persevere. Overcome.
My name is Avery Sheppard, and I am a co-founder of VORACIOUS. I have served as an active-duty United States Marine since 2021 and am currently still serving, and my life has been shaped by loss, absent and incarcerated family members, and battles that forced me to grow. The greatest turning point came when my mother passed away from cancer while I was in boot camp. That pain ignited a fire in me and taught me that tomorrow is never promised, so I refuse to hesitate when it comes to pursuing my goals.
After losing my mother, the gym became my sanctuary - a place to release my pain, confront my mental struggles, and rebuild myself. Training gave me the discipline to pursue growth in every area of my life. Since then, I have competed in two powerlifting competitions, created fitness content for four years, earned an associate degree in fire science, and begun pursuing a bachelor's degree in physical therapy and nutrition.
We created VORACIOUS for anyone fighting pain, loss, or mental battles that others may never see. We want to show you that your darkest moments do not have to define your future. You can use training as a tool to find strength, meaning, and purpose - and you can change your life.
Being VORACIOUS means having a relentless hunger to grow physically, mentally, and personally. Your pain does not have to be the end of your story, it can become the beginning of your purpose. Stay hungry. Have discipline. Be VORACIOUS.
